The end of Harry Potter is near. Harry Potter has been a part of my life for 10 years, that’s half of my life. If I hadn’t started reading these books 10 years ago, I probably wouldn’t be as in to reading as I am to day. I learned to love reading because of the Harry Potter books.
But to be completely honest when the books first came out I wasn’t that into them. I remember clearly saying at the age of 9/10 “ooh it’s just some book about a kid who finds out he is a wizard and goes to wizard school.”
I can say this statement was completely wrong. These books are so much more than that simple plot. They have action, love, friendship, death and so much more. You can’t fully know the story until you’ve read the books. I learned this when I actually picked up the book instead judging it.
I took the book out of my elementary school library for my silent reading book. I remember contemplating about whether to take it out our not because I thought it sounded stupid. My teacher told us to grab our books and head back to class. I snatched the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone off the shelf and checked it out. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I was excited to get home after school to read more and find out what happened. I’m sure you can guess what happened after reading that first book.
You know how Hollister has live streaming videos of the beach? Well, there’s a website where you can watch the beach from your own computer. Kinda creepy but kinda cool if you live somewhere without a beach.
